Genealogy

As an ‘every once in a while’ hobby, I have been compiling genealogy records of our family for several years now. I’ve inherited a lot of historical information from Bessie & Harry Meiselman, and have expanded on many of those details by asking questions at various family events, etc.

Most of my effort has been to document the current generations, and to build a current family tree. There is still a lot missing and I am very much interested in adding information, and of course, correcting any information that may be in error.

But first, a word about privacy. Private data, such as life cycle dates, etc. of living persons are placed in my computer records, but are never distributed online in any way.

I use two online services to display the data.

“Tribal Pages” is the best site to easily view the family tree. This link lands on Rachel Looban’s father, Chaim Vershook, and displays the four known families that make up the Family Group. This display shows three generations below, but if you click on any of the younger persons, it will display additional lower generations.

You can also change the ‘view’ of any particular person, by clicking on the choices at the top of the page, ‘Family’ or ‘Ancestor’.

“Roots Web” is a site that is commonly used by genealogists in their searches. I have received many inquiries from this site. Unlike Tribal Pages, this site includes my family as well, so it will have many names that are obviously of little interest.

It also is more restrictive in terms of privacy, by not listing the first names of ALL living members, replacing it with the word, ‘LIVING’, so it is a little hard to tell who is who amongst the current generations.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me either by phone, or by email through the ‘Contact’ page on this site.

Again, I am VERY interested in adding information to both my archive, and to these two sites.
